Mr. Norman Bentwich, the Attorney-General to the Palestine Government, is retiring from Government service on October 31st., says an official notice issued here to-day, announcing that Mr. Bentwich’s leave of absence has been extended until that date.
Reports to this effect have been current for months, ever since Mr. Bentwich went on leave of absence, and a few days ago (quoted in the J.T.A. Bulletin of August 29th.) the Palestine Hebrew Labour daily “Davar” stated that it had obtained authoritative information that Mr. Bentwich would not return to Palestine to take up again his official duties.
