Announcement of a $500,000 gift from Mrs. Felix M. Warburg, daughter of the late Jacob H. Schiff, to the Visiting Nurse Service of New York was made by former Senator William J. Tully.
The gift, in the form of a fund created in the New York Community Trust, was specified by Mrs. Warburg as being a memorial endowment in celebration of her mother’s seventieth birthday and in commemoration of the attachment her father had for the Henry Street settlement, the headquarters of the Visiting Nurse Service.
The annual income from the fund, it was said, would provide for at least sixteen nurses for the service.
