Honorary life membership in the Canadian Legion was awarded to Mrs. A. J. Freiman, president of the Canadian Hadassah and prominent social worker, in recognition of her work in connection with relief for ex-service men of Canada.
Presentation ceremonies took place at Mrs. Freiman’s home, where Major John S. Roper, M.C., K.C., officiated. A gold badge and life certificate were given to the Hadassah president, who is the first woman in the country to receive the honor.
During the War, Mrs. Freiman was active in organizing welfare work for the Canadian troops. Since the Armistice she has been working in the interest of the veterans.
