Mrs. Rose L. Halprin, acting chairman of the Jewish Agency, has left for Israel to attend the Actions Committee sessions of the World Zionist Organization which is opening in Jerusalem on July 10 and will continue for two weeks, the Agency announced today. The Actions Committee is the supreme legislative body of the World Zionist Organization between Zionist Congresses.
The meetings of the Actions Committee are of vital importance. Not only are the problems on the agenda of housing and jobs for the thousands of immigrants that come into the country every month but plans must be formulated for the transportation to Israel of hundreds of thousands of Jews from Eastern Europe and North Africa who are waiting their turn to move to Israel. This is the gravest problem that confronts the Jewish people today, Mrs. Halprin declared before she left.
