Mrs. Charles H. Jordan, widow of the late director of the Joint Distribution Committee, will accept the Nansen Medal awarded to her husband posthumously for his work in humanitarian fields. The presentation will be made at the Palais Des Nations here on Oct. 10. the birthday of Fridtjof Nansen, first League of Nations refugee high commissioner, in whose memory the award was established. The selection of Mr. Jordan for the honor was announced earlier by Prince Aga Kahn, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and chairman of the Nansen Medal Award Committee.
Mr. Jordan died under mysterious circumstances in Prague, Czechoslovakia, in the summer of 1967 while visiting there with Mrs. Jordan. He disappeared from his hotel. His drowned body was found several days later.
