Israeli Premier Golda Meir criticized her own country’s administration for immigrant absorption as being too bureaucratic. Speaking Friday night at a Labor Alignment meeting discussing absorption problems, she said “after complaints have reached my ears,” she was concerned over the social absorption of new immigrants. She said she felt that present arrangements are inadequate and she called on absorption officials to adopt a less official approach in dealings with immigrants. Mrs. Meir also appealed to the established Israeli public to open its hearts and homes to new immigrants.
