A book designed and written by Palestinian children was today presented to Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt at a reception given by the national board of Junior Hadassah. The book, dedicated to the “First Lady in the land of liberty,” was a gift from the children’s village of Meier Shfeyah, Palestine and an expression of the Palestinian children’s admiration of Mrs. Roosevelt for her “deep interest in the education and rehabilitation of underprivileged boys and girls.” The volume is bound in covers of Palestinian olive wood and contains stories and pictures of life in the children’s village.
