Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt, who is now visiting Israel, spent last night at President Weizmann’s residence in Rehovot after completing a trip through the Negev, the Southern part of the country.
During her tour in the Negev, Mrs. Roosevelt visited Beersheba where she lunched with the mayor and local notables. Later she visited Sheik Suleiman el Huziel and his tribe. On her way to Dr. Weizmann’s home, she stopped at the village for the blind near Rehovot which is maintained by the Joint Distribution Committee. She was presented with an album of pictures of the village.
Dr. Garcia Granados, representative of Guatemala at the United Nations, who is now visiting Israel, today addressed the Commercial and Industrial Club here and expressed satisfaction with the achievements of the Jewish State. Dr. Granados will participate in the U.J.A. campaign upon his return to the United States.
