Resolutions calling for an enlarged program of cultural activities among members, the creation of study groups with courses in Jewish history, literature and the Socialist labor movement, a renewal of the movement for Hebrew and Jewish departments in public libraries and the introduction of Hebrew and Jewish subjects in the public school curricula in cities were the Jews live in compact masses, were adopted at the concluding session of the annual convention of the Jewish National Workers’ Alliance of the United States and Canada.
Palestine resolutions adopted greeting the beginning of the Chalutz (pioneer movement) in the United States, pledged active support to the Jewish National Fund and urged complete devotion to the success of the campaign for the Jewish workers in Palestine.
Myer Brown was reelected president and Louis Segal was again chosen general secretary. Other officers are Dr. M. Applebaum, vice-president and N. Zvirin, treasurer. The delegates agreed to aid financially the sanitarium at Los Angeles, at Denver, the Deborah Hospital, the Folk Schools and Peretz Schools in Montreal and the Jewish Teachers’ Seminary.
