An unidentified plane flew over Israel early this morning dropping flares. The unknown plane also flew over Jordan territory whence explosions were heard. Reports from Elath said that the population of the port was awakened by explosions. There were no further details from Elath.
(From Amman it was reported today that an unidentified jet bomber had dropped three bombs on Jordan this morning. A Jordanian military spokesman was reported as stating that the bombs were dropped over Al Mazara, a village near the south end of the Dead Sea, another over Al Kafza Mountain, south of Nazareth, and another at Jenin, in Northern Jordan. All three bombs exploded in the air. There was no mention of casualties.)
