The sum of $4,200.000 has been paid in to date by New York City subscribers to the quota of $6,000,000 assigned to Greater New York in the United Jewish Campaign during May 1926.
In making this announcement, Paul Baerwald, treasurer of the New York drive, pointed out that the original quota assigued to this city was $4,000,000 and was raised to $6,000,000 on the initative of William Fox. The management of the drive was directed by David M. Bressler, as acting chairman, and Jonah J. Goldstein, as vice-chairman. The Brooklyn sub-committee was headed by Judge Grover M. Moscowitz, chairman, and Hugh Grant Straus, treasurer.
“It is noteworthy that although the drive in New York, as all over the country, was predicated on a three-annual payment basis,” said Mr. Baerwald, “30,000 of the 42,000 individual subscribers of the $6,000,000 fund have already redeemed their pledges in full Of the remaining 12,000 the majority have met both the 1926 and 1927 payments and have only to meet their 1928 payment in due course.”
