Two college heads and a federal judge were named today by Governor Nelson Rockefeller and Republican legislative leaders to develop a state memorial for the late Herbert H. Lehman, former Governor and Senator.
Chancellor William P. Tolley of Syracuse University, the Rev. J.J. MoGinley, president of Canisius College of Buffalo and Federal Judge Edward Weinfeld have been asked to recommend “a suitable enduring memorial for one of the greatest humanitarians of our times,” Gov. Rockefeller said. “We in New York State can never forget Mr. Lenman’s lifelong dedication to public service and humanity,” he added.
