A one day protest strike was proclaimed by the Arab inhabitants of Nablus against the government’s quarantine in connection with the cattle plague now prevalent in the country.
The protest was directed against the strict enforcement of the regulations promulgated by the government in connection with the plague. The strikers declared that their action was due to the fact that the cost of living in the town has been increased since the regulations were issued by the government. Many shops and factories have been closed.
