S. Kaplansky yesterday was named by the Zionist executive as chairman of the committee delegated to arrange for the transfer of the remains of Dr. Theodor Herzl, founder of the modern political Zionist movement, from Vienna to Palestine.
The World Zionist Congress last Fall voted that Dr. Herzl’s remains be transferred from their resting place in the Vienna Jewish cemetery to a suitable place in Palestine. Recently a shipping company offered to place a liner at the disposal of the committee to convey Dr. Herzl’s remains.
