Secretary of the Interior Ickes has appointed Ralph Horween of Chicago as executive assistant for the Oil Administration, it was learned.
Norween, an outstanding football player for Harvard in 1915, 1916 and 1919 and backfield coach at the Cambridge institution in 1926, is Jewish. He has been chief of the Chicago office of the Petroleum Administrative Board.
As executive assistant he will act as the Secretary’s personal representative in coordinating the activities of the Petroleum Administrative Board, the Petroleum Labor Policy Board and the Oil Enforcement Unit of the Department of Investigators.
