The Council of the League of Nations today listened to a report on the Russian refugee situation submitted to the Council on behalf of Dr. Fridjhof Nansen, the League’s High Commissioner who is at present in the United States in the interests of the refugees.
The Council was warned that Dr. Nansen’s activities must not terminate if the progress already made was not to be destroyed.
Among those who have been of service to the Russian refugees in various countries and who were thanked for these services was the Joint Distribution Committee whose establishment of a scientific institute in Berlin was acknewledged with gratitude. The French Government was thanked for encouraging the immigration of Russians from Constantinople.
