The Daily Telegraph reported from Cairo today that President Gamal Abdel Nasser will not visit Moscow this month or in the near future. According to the report, an official announcement in Cairo denied widely published reports that Col. Nasser was going to Russia for medical treatment and conferences with Soviet leaders. The Telegraph said the denial was issued to dispel reports that Nasser was reluctant to attend the Islamic summit conference scheduled to take place in Rabat, Morocco Sept. 22-24.
