Settlers in the citrus colony of Nathanyah, Palestine, which is being established there in honor of Nathan Straus, will name all first-born female children during the next year Lina Straus, after the late Lina Gutherz Straus, wife of the distinguished philanthropist and Zionist, according to word which has just reached Samuel Freedlander of Orange, American representative of the Nathanyah colony.

The information concerning the plan for the Lina Straus namesakes comes from Ben-Ami, leader of the Nathanyah colony where the settlers are also planning to buy a 250-acre tract bordering on the Mediterranean, near the colony, for development as the Lina Straus Park and recreation center. The colony has an area of 10,900 dunams of land, or nearly 3,000 acres and has been acclaimed by leading Jews.
