An intensified campaign against racial prejudice will started throughout the United States shortly, aided and supported by the entire advertising profession and by many business, labor and civic organizations it was reported here today. The drive will be conducted by the Advertising Council, Inc.
Every means of advertising which could probably be useful will be mobilized in this fight against prejudice,” it was announced at a press conference. Some of the best brains in the advertising profession have donated their time and talent to the design of striking posters and eloquent statements of the American creed. Through business facilities will use advertising in newspapers, magazines, over the air, in outdoor display panels and subway car cards.”
The campaign will concentrate on slogans stressing the following major points: Accept or reject people on their individual worth do not listen to or spread rumors against a race or religion, and speak up, wherever one is: in business, school, labor union, church or social group, against group prejudice. The program will have the support of the Association of National Advertisers, the American Association of Advertising Agencies, and the Bureau of Advertising of the American Newspaper Publishers Association.
