The National Conference of Christians and Jews has started a $1,000,000 fund-raising campaign to meet the expenses of its expanded program, designed to “avert the calamity of post-war hate movements” in this country, it was announced here by Dr. Everett R. Clinchy, president. The work of the National Conference, defined as promoting “civilized harmonious relations among people of differing cultures,” was carried on last year out of forty regional and area offices serving 3,000 communities.
