THE ORDER WAS ISSUED IN A LETTER TO ADJUTANT GENERAL WALTER G. ROBINSON IN A LETTER AFTER IT WAS DISCLOSED THAT UNIFORMED OFFICERS AND ENLISTED MEN OF THE NEW YORK NATIONAL GUARD HAD ATTENDED A BALL GIVEN BY A RUSSIAN ANTI-SOVIET NEWSPAPER AT WHICH UNIFORMED NAZIS WERE ALSO REPORTED TO HAVE BEEN PRESENT.
