A letter from Secretary of the Navy Fred Korth, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the death of United States Navy Commodore Uriah P. Levy, was presented in ceremonies here to Rabbi Norman Gerstenfeld, spiritual leader of the Washington Hebrew Congregation, which Commodore Levy helped found in 1852. The congregation is the oldest Jewish house of worship here.
