Intensifying their drive against the Jews of Holland, Nazi authorities there this week ordered all Jewish peddlers to immediately surrender their licenses, the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsbelad, reaching here today, reports.
The order deprives the Jews of Holland of their last positions in commerce. They will no longer be permitted to buy and sell even rags and bones.
The Latvian newspaper “Tevija” which reached here today from Riga reports that the Latvian population has been urged by the Nazi commissioner Fust “to make every effort to ensure the annihilation of the Jews.” Addressing a public meeting in Riga, the Nazi official said. “Everybody must know that the Jews are responsible for the present war, and everybody must fulfill his duty in helping to exterminate them.”
