The Secretary of the German Legation here, mistaken for a Jew, was attacked by anti-Semitic students during an anti-Jewish outbreak yesterday, it was established here today.
The demonstration was prearranged by the student leaders to coincide with the return of King Carol from Poland where he attended funeral services of Marshal Josef Pilsudski. The Secretary of the German Legation was thrown into a lake by the anti-Semitic students:
The demonstration was climaxed in a rally before the King’s Palace. A delegation of the anti-Semitic students was later received by the King’s secretary to whom they submitted a petition for the King demanding the introduction of restrictions against Jewish students in Rumanian universities and that they be barred from professions.
