Nazi-hunter Simon Wiesenthal said here that the whereabouts of Josef. Mengele is well-known but “we have refrained from taking action so as not to risk the safety of the Jews of Paraguay.” Wiesenthal, who was here on a lecture tour, said he received letters from Paraguay Jews warning they would be exposed to revenge and retaliation should anything happen to Mengele who is reported to be residing in that country.
