Gerhard Bohne, one of the former Nazis scheduled to have been tried in a current case being heard at Limburg, on charges of participating in the Hitlerian “euthanasia” program in which more than 200, 000 persons mostly Jews, were murdered through “mercy killing” injections, has been arrested in Argentina, it was announced here today by Fritz Bauer, chief prosecutor of the State of Hesse.
Mr. Bauer said the West German Government has asked Argentina to extradite Bohne who was one of five former SS officers scheduled to face the Limburg court. He jumped bail and escaped before the trial opened. Two others of the original five defendants lined up for that trial died, one definitely a suicide, the other a suspected suicide.
