Nazi Raid on Haifa Fails; One Hurt in Acre

German planes this morning carried out a raid on Haifa, but damage was insignificant. One person was injured in a raid on Acre.

High Commissioner Sir Harold A. MacMichael highly praised the Haifa Air Raid Precautions service and ground defenses for efficiency and bravery.

(Strong formations of German bombers last night attacked Haifa, dropping bombs of all calibers, a German High Command communique in Berlin announced.)

Meanwhile, the Second International Fashion Show was opened in Tel Aviv by Dr. Emil Schmorak of the Jewish Agency, who emphasized the rapid development of Jewish industry as a result of the drive to contribute to the war effort.
