Nazi authorities have withdrawn their order compelling Jews in Belgium to wear Mogen David armbands due to popular objections, the Jewish Chronicle reports in its current issue.
The weekly also reported that Sheriff Boekman, Zionist leader and member of the Amsterdam City Council, who had been prominent in the city’s artistic and educational life, had committed suicide.
