A split in the Nazi ranks on the question of depriving Jews of citizenship rights was revealed today by Wilhelm Kube, former leader of the Nazi fraction in the Prussian Diet, in an article in the Maerkischer Adler.
Kube demands the complete elimination of Jews from every sphere of German life without exception and insists that no concessions be made in this program. He criticized bitterly the toleration Minister of Economics Schmitt has allegedly shown Jewish business men.
Kube insists that whatever the views of some members of the Nazi cabinet members may be on the fate of German Jewry, the Jews must not be permitted to retain German citizenship.
“The fourth clause of our party program must be carried out,” Kube declared, “only Volksgenossen (compatriots) can be citizens, and Volksgenossen can be only those of German blood.”
Jews should be assigned the status of aliens, Kube asserted, and prohibited from participating in elections. He also insisted that if Unemployment in Germany does not decrease, all German Jews should be deported, thus alleviating the economic conditions in Germany.
