A free-for-all fight between Jews and Nazi sympathizers took place in front of the Cameo Theatre, on 42nd St., yesterday afternoon as the result of an argument over a German picture being shown in the theatre.
The feature picture, Kuhle Wampi, a German film, is accompanied by a short talkie in which Peretz Hirschbein, Norman Thomas, Heywood Broun, and other literary and political celebrities, decry the Nazi persecution of German-Jews. A Nazi sympathizer came out of the theatre objecting to the views expressed by these speakers. He got into an argument with several Jewish sympathizers.
Within a few moments the fight had begun, soon over a hundred people were in the scuffle. Police used their clubs to put an end to it. There were no serious injuries.
