The Nazis have begun calling up Jews for service with the armed forces, according to testimony given by German war prisoners captured on the El Alamein front.
Two prisoners, giving their ages as 30 and 31, said they had been conscripted only last January. Asked by British officers why they had been mobilized so late, one of them said: “We are Jews. Germany has begun the conscription of Jews only recently.”
