Government officials and Nazi leaders attended ceremonies today marking the opening of the research department on Jews of the Institute for the History of the New Germany at Munich University.
Dr. Walter Frank, president of the institute, said that the “largest library in Europe on the Jewish question” would be established soon at the university. He said that the custom in liberalistic times of Jews alone studying the Jewish question had been changed.
A three-day conference on the Jewish question was scheduled to begin after the ceremonies with twenty professors listed as speakers. Prof. Karl A. von Mueller is director of the new department on Jews.
