A curious incident in the campaign of “purifying” Germany of Jewish influences occurred here yesterday when all Jewish members of the executive committee of the metallurgical industries organization were ousted from their posts and replaced by Nazis. As soon as this was done, however, it was realized that the move left the association without experts and the new executive committee thereupon decided to appoint an advisory committee to which, curiously enough, they elected the six Jews who had been their predecessors on the executive committee.
These men are Paul Friedmann, well-known as a director of the Suss & Friedmann Company; Carl Goldberg, of Levy, Stem & Company; Mendel Hoffmann of the Hirsch Ore and Metal Company; Dr. M. Lissauer, of Lissauer & Company; Adolf Schoyer, of the H. Schoyer Company, and Ludwig Stern of the Oskar Beier Company of Frankfort.
