Nazis Plan Dawa Unit for Boston

Although the mask of secrecy was to be worn by a gathering of Hitler sympathizers held in the Turn Verein Hall, Jamaica Plain, last night, the Jewish Daily Bulletin has learned that initial steps are being taken to organize a Boston branch of the DAWA, business organization of German Americans who are openly hostile to the Jews and who aim to destroy the boycott of German-made products. One of the chief functions of the organization is to establish a boycott of Jewish business houses.

Louis Zahne of New York City told the meeting, which was attended by a large group of German extraction, that they “must organize for their good.” Those present, numbering about 300, expressed approval of the Friends of New Germany, a completely Nazified organization.

Zahne told his hearers that the economic security of countless German Americans is imperiled. He said that discrimination against German Americans is forcing a great many out of their jobs because of a belief current that they are in sympathy with the Nazi movement.

POLICE GUARD HALL

He said: “American citizens cannot be Nazi, neither can Germans who have become citizens of America join in the movement On the other hand members of the Nazi party in Germany cannot belong to the American society of Friends of New Germany.”

A police cordon stood guard outside the meeting hall.

The speaker pointed out that the founding of the society is being forced on them because of the “persistent discrimination.”
