A new effort to confine all Warsaw Jews into a ghetto has been initiated by the Nazi authorities of the former Polish capital, it was reported today by the Krakauer Zeitung, official Nazi organ in German-occupied Poland.
A previous effort to establish a ghetto, launched shortly after occupation of Warsaw, had to be abandoned because of a typhus epidemic. The current attempt has been initiated by Herr Leist new Nazi District Chief of Warsaw. Leist has decreed that all Jews living in other sections of Warsaw must move immediately to the section originally set apart as a ghetto and that all non-Jews must leave the quarter. Refusals to comply with the decree will be severely punished.
