Several projects for confiscation of Jewish realty have been worked out, it was learned today, and a comprehensive measure covering the seizure has been in the hands of ministries concerned for the past week.
The Ministry of Finance was understood to be opposing confiscation on the grounds that Jewish landlords were good taxpayers and the seizure would deprive the treasury of their taxes. Nazi extremists, however, were reported demanding confiscation and observers expected that some concession would be made to them before the end of 1936.
Dr. Hellmuth, Nazi Commissar for Franconia, issued an order today establishing, headquarters “to regulate difficulties between landlords and tenants.” The order was interpreted as opening the door to placing Jewish realty under the control of the Nazi Party.
