Nazis Seek to Split Soviet Army by Anti-semitism; Loudspeakers Blare Messages

The Nazis are making a concerted effort to split the Soviet army by anti-Semitism, it was reported here today.

Loudspeakers have been brought up to the front which blare out a message urging Soviet soldiers to seize Jewish officers and troops and turn them over to the Germans. In return for this, the Nazis promise the Russians that they will be treated as friends rather than as war prisoners and promise the Russian peasants the State land now cultivated by them, as well as land cultivated by Jews.

The Luftwaffe recently dropped a special Ukrainian edition of the rabidly anti-Jewish weekly Der Stuermer on Ukrainian towns, it was reported. The Scherl Publishing Co. in the Reich printed vast quantities of “Mein Kampf,” anti-Jewish leaflets and pamphlets, which were placed at the disposal of the German army for distribution in the Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Air Raid Precautions and fire-fighting squads are being organized by Jewish communities in the ghettos of the Polish Government-General and shelters are under construction, the Polish Jewish organ Gazeta Zydowska reports.

Indicative of the shortage of physicians in German territory, the paper reveals that 15 doctors were recently sent from the Warsaw ghetto to Lodz, in the section of German-annexed Poland barred to Jews. The first horse-drawn tramway is now in operation in the Warsaw ghetto, the paper adds.
