Confiscation of all the property of the Hamburger Clothing Company, a German Jewish concern, was ordered today by the Nazi government. The official reason assigned for the act was the flight of Carl Jacob Hamburger, senior member of the firm, from Germany.
Notwithstanding the fact that the members of the Hamburger family are citizens of the Netherlands, the corporation, together with its distributing companies in various German cities, was taken over today by Nazi officials.
The main factory of the concern is located at Stettin, Germany, and employed hundreds of workers.
The Jewish owners of the concern fled shortly after the Nazis came into power, fearing that their lives were not safe.
