At the same time that the Nazis continue to ship Jews from Germany and Western Europe to Poland they are sending Polish Jews to work in German factories, it is revealed here today in the Litzmannstaeder Zeitung, Nazi newspapers published in Lodz.
Evacuation of Jews from the Jewish quarter of Poddembice was recently arranged through several Nazi agencies, particularly the Arbeitesamt, the Nazi paper reports. After inspection, the Jews were put to work according to their capacity, mostly in Germany proper. They were placed in camps and “care was taken to exploit he working capacity of the Jews to the advantage of the whole population and sponging was brought to an end,” the paper writes.
This reversal of the Nazi policy of deporting Jews from the Reich evidently has confused the German people. The Hakenkreuz complains about the growing sympathy for Jews. Commenting on those Jews who are exempt from wearing the yellow Mogen David, because they are married to Aryans, the Nazi publication says: “Unfortunately, there are still some Germans who consider it an honor to show sympathy to Jews. The shamelessness of these Germans and the wheedling attitude of some house owners is only worthy of contempt from all clean-minded people.”
