An Arabic broadcast from Germany voiced regret that the Jewish refugees on the steamer Rim, which last week burned off the Island of Rhodes, had escaped death, it was revealed today by the Times.
The following version of the Rim tragedy was broadcast from Germany on July 7 and recorded in London and Palestine: “Fire broke out in a ship flying the Panama flag with 814 Jews on board. Unfortunately these errant Jews were rescued from the death that they deserved by near-by boats.”
