A permanent injunction restraining the mayor and police of Union City, N. J., from prohibiting meetings of the Nazi Friends of New Germany was granted today by Vice Chancellor James F. Fielder in Jersey City Chancery Court.
The court ruled that the police of Union City have no right to interfere with the meetings as long as they are lawful, but if th# meetings are conducted in an unlawful manner then the police may prosecute under the criminal statues.
CONDEMNS NAZIS
Vice Chancellor Fielder severely condemned the Nazified organization for anti-Jewish propaganda and for distributing anti-Jewish leaflets. He urged the police to watch the meetings carefully for violation of existing laws.
Fred Eichmann, city attorney of Union City, and John Drewen, former prosecutor of Hudson County, argued against granting the injunction. The Friends of New Germany were represented
