Having seen the Zionist Congress shed its extremists, the Palestine Arabs cannot be less favorable to cooperation with the Jews, Near East and India declares today in commenting on the outcome of the Zionist Congress. Pointing out that “common sense finally prevailed,” Near East and India declares that “not only were the Revisionists defeated but the Zionist Congress elected a thoroughgoing Weizmannite, Nahum Sokolow, as president.”

The paper asserts that “it is to the credit of the Zionist Congress that it preferred fact to fancy. Relations between the Zionists and the Mandatory Power may sometimes fall short of cordiality but their respective viewpoints are now understood better than ever before. High Commissioner Chancellor should be able to hand over to his successor a going concern.”
