Nelson Mandela reportedly said he sees similarities between his trial and Marwan Barghouti’s. Mandela called for the Fatah leader to be treated fairly, according to the Israeli daily Ha’aretz. Khader Shkirat, a lawyer for Barghouti, relayed that South Africa’s most famous political prisoner said, “What is happening to Barghouti is exactly the same as what happened to me.”
