Dr. Emanuel Neumann, president of the Zionist Organization of America, last night declared that neither he nor Dr. Abba Hillel ‘Silver would withdraw their resignations as members of the American section of the executive of the Jewish Agency because "there has been no clarification of the issue involving the administrative autonomy of our organization."
Speaking at the annual meeting of the Manhattan region of the Z.O.A., Dr. Neumann revealed that he and Dr. Silver had been pressed repeatedly to withdraw their resignations. Commenting on the internal situation in the Z.O.A., he asserted that discussions between the present Z.O.A. administration and the Committee for Progressive Zionism were "beginning to bear fruit."
