The new academic year of the Hebrew University was opened yesterday with a greeting from President Isaac Ben Zvi to a record enrollment of 4, 200 students. The opening ceremonies were held in the newly-established George and Florence Wise Auditorium.
At the close of the ceremonies, the students entered classes in 21 new buildings constructed on the campus during the past year. The new students included recent arrive from Hungary, Poland and Egypt.
