Introduction of a new anti-Jewish bill tightening the 20 per cent numerous Clausus on Jews in the nation’s commercial and cultural life is expected before Christmas. Premier Bela Imredy is continuing conferences on the measure with the Cabinet.
The proposed bill was justified today by the Government newspaper Esti Ujsag, which said it must be passed before “anti-Jewish feeling is allowed to run too high.”
Major Ferenc Szalasi, leader of the Hungarian Nazi Party who is serving a three-year term for subversive activities, is expected to be released in the Christmas amnesty. it is believed the Government hopes, through his release, to stem violent Nazi agitation.
