New Arrests of Jews Reported from Iraq; Other Jews Permitted to Leave Iraq by Sea

The Iraqi press reports that a number of Jews leaving Iraq for Israel have been arrested at the Bagdad airport on charges that they sought to smuggle gold and Jewelry out of the country. At the same time, it is reported that Iraqi Jews are now being permitted to leave that Moslem country for Israel by sea. About 600 Iraqi Jews reportedly sailed for Israel from the port of Basra.
