Dr. I. Alvarez, newly-appointed Cuban representative to the United Nations, today received a Zionist delegation and assured its members that he will revise the negative attitude toward Israel taken by his predecessor, who voted against the Nov. 29, 1947, U.N. partition decision. Alvarez will assume his new duties in January.
The Federation of Students in Cuba today posted a large sign at the entrance of the university here urging the government to grant immediate recognition to Israel and enter into diplomatic as well as trade relations with the Jewish state.
