With 800 delegates representing all sections of New England Jewry in attendance, a Palestine land redemption conference at the Hotel Statler yesterday afternoon adopted a $50,000 quota toward the national goal of $500,000.
Elihu D. Stone, vice-president of the Zionist Organization of America, urged the conference to support the Palestine land redemption program.
Maurice Samuel, author and lecturer, declared in his speech that the Jewish National Fund constitutes the “only salutary effect in stemming speculation in Palestine.”
The local campaign will seek to raise $15,000 of the New England quota, under the leadership of El-dar Markson. The New England campaign organization is headed by Rabbi H. H. Rubenovitz.
