A land company with a capital of $300,000 will be organized by the Grand Mufti of Palestine to enable Arabs to refrain from selling their lands to Jews, it was announced here today.
At a meeting of the Arab leaders of northern Palestine held here today it was reported that a number of Syrian land owners who possess land in the Huleh district on the Syrian frontier were forced to sell a part of their a###age to Jews in order to raise funds for cultivating their other lands and to adopt modern methods of agriculture.
If the report is correct, it means that in addition to the concession which the Jews have obtained in Huleh, on the Palestine side, they have now also succeeded in obtaining a part of the Huleh land on the Syrian side.
The work of draining the Huleh swamps will soon begin on the Palestine side, it was announced today.
